Our Projects

Dairy Farming

The villages are covered with grassland and large quantizes of crop residue is available everywhere which can be used gainfully for developing family based dairy farm. In addition of production of milk it will be a source of natural fertilizer (cow dung which was the natural fertilizer for our villages over ages ) Now the use of chemical fertilizers are not increasing the production and have many bad effects of consummating produce from chemical fertilizers . There is universal trend of using organic fertilizers which can be easily produced with help of cow dung.

Goat Firming

Goats are an integral part of our household in villages , size, providing milk and meat for ages. This animal can survive on wide range of food and can eat almost everything . It can survive in desert type terrain even and doesn’t require much care. Now with rise of price of milk and meat, goat rearing has became a very much profitable business. Black Bengal variety has become a very much popular in Bengal due to its higher resistance to dieses . Now a days even MoRD is assisting in spreading the goat firming with this brand supply

Piggery Farming

The long riversides are covered with bushes and normal agriculture farming can’t be developed due to many reason. But the land can be gainfully developed for rearing the pigs which will get free natural food from the bushes. Moreover huge number of adivasi populations are dwelling in these areas who can rear pigs gainfully. If the initial stock of sows and one boar per ten sows are provided it is very easy to develop family based piggery in large number of places. Some supplementary food has to be organized from outside for better growth of the pigs, Now with cost of meat skyrocketing, pig farming is a very profitable and it can bring the required income to the families for self sufficiency

Fish Farming

Bengal is having huge prospects of fish farming as large number of small and big pond and wetland are spread all over the state. In normal natural growth of fishes the common carp fishes can grow up to half kg per year, But with scientific farming with food supplements fishes can grow up to one and half kg per year, STWWS has developed integrated fish farming where poultry shed is erected partially over the pond where the dropping directly fall on pond as supplement food

Hen Farming

Poultry farming is one of the wide spread business in countries all over the world. Advantage of poultry farming is that it can be done in a very small area and can fully depend on outside supply of processed food which are waste of different industries including agriculture k fisheries etc . Its development cycle is very short and supply of meat and eggs start within 4/5 months only. It is having ready market and can be supplied over long distances ie to nearby cities. Infrastructure for marketing & supply is well organizes as it can be developed in a family.

Mud Crab Farming

Mud crab constitute an important secondary crop in the traditional prawn or fish culture systems in some of the coastal states & Union Terrotories and has become increasingly popular by virtue of its meat quality and large size. Recent jump in price due to demand in international market; crab farming has become a very profitable business in marshy land beside the creek of sundarban tributaries.Crab farming doesn’t require much skill and the villagers can be easily trained for this business. With little financial help this can bring a steady source of income for the villagers

Honey bee firming - Apiculture

Honey bee farming can be developed in the villages adjourning to forest and also in villages which produces different crops through out the years. One or two migration will add the profit with better margin. Normally the flowering of sundarban mangrove trees is 4 months per year. With addition of one or two crop flowering season the yearly cycle can be managed . Presently the collected honey are natural harvest from trees of the forest but it can be developed in boxes as above with very small fund and is profitable. Collection of natural honey from people who get licence from govt is also verymuch profitable .

Vermicomposting

India has the largest number of cattles producing huge dung which can be disposed easily for producing organic fertilizers. Area and finance required for this farming is very less and can be organized by the villagers themselves with little help from outside. Local demand of this fertilizer is also high due to awareness of danger of using chemical fertilizers.

GOVERNMENT SCHEME

There is Government program of developing Livestock in each block where financial help is given to develop live stock including distribution of free livestock. The projects will be developed keeping these as crystal center and grow it with additional help from outside. Due to many reason these are not reaching the targeted families who need help from outside for developing the nucleus cells
